Leonard ''Bud'' Ellis Dacus, age 89, of Jonesboro, AR, woke up with Jesus on Easter morning, April 20, 2025. He was born on March 15, 1936, in Jonesboro, AR, to Luster W. and Alva (McCracken) Dacus. Bud lived all his life in the Jonesboro area and was a devout Christian as a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa Bud to his grandchildren and most recently his first great-grandson.

He enlisted in the Army National Guard 875th Engineering Battalion in 1958 and was honorably discharged in September of 1964. He retired from Hytrol Conveyor in 2002 after 40 years of employment. In retirement, he enjoyed restoring antique tractors, singing southern gospel music, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Alan Dacus.

Those left to cherish the memory of Bud are his loving wife of 66 years, Louise (Barnett) Dacus; daughters Shelby (Chris) Pfeifer, Sandy Dacus, and Cherly (Greg) Williams, all of Jonesboro; brother Carroll ''Bill'' Dacus of Jonesboro; grandchildren Cheyenne (Derek) Williamson of Maumelle, Christopher Williams of Colt, Mikayla (Zach) Harris of Brookland, and Sarah Williams of Jonesboro; great-grandson Levi Ellis Harris; niece Sherry (Dacus) Copeland and nephew Billy Dacus; and many friends, neighbors and loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11am at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Bro. Jay Jacobs and Bro. Don Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Derek Williamson, Zach Harris, Matthew Whitten, Jerry Coleman, Billy Dacus, and Eric Dacus. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Pfeifer, Greg Williams, and Christopher Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bud's name to the Central Baptist Church building fund.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
