Jack B Morris

of Mountain View, AR

March 9, 1937 - April 1, 2025

Jack B. Morris, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born at his family home place in Mountain View, Arkansas on March 9, 1937 to the late A.J. and Ruby Morris. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Jay and his younger brother, Buck Morris.

Jack spent many years of his life as an avid hunter and cattle farmer. He was Commander of The American Legion Post 43 in Mountain View, serving for 12 years and was an active member for 59 years. Jack actively served in the United States Navy for four years and was in the reserves in Olathe, Kansas for four years.

He was a man of many talents; that wore many different hats and held many different titles. You could often find him working on the bulldozer, tinkering with tools in the shop, caring for his animals or lending a hand to someone in need.

Jack was a family man, who was married to the love of his life for 66 years. He was also a father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother and friend. Jack would give the shirt off his back to anyone without thinking twice about it. He was a giving, encouraging and supportive man who never gave up on the ones he loved the most. He always had a good joke and gave everyone a hard time; especially those he was fond of.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Deane Clark Morris; children, Bryant (Suzanne)Morris, DeAnn (Jeff) Peterson, Kim (Luke) O'Gary; grandchildren, Jake (Margaret) Strother, Morgan Morris, Casey Morris, Jaylynn (Hadley) Martin, Drake (Kaitlyn) Peterson, Alexandra (Jaxon) Steed, Joseph Steed, Jack Steed, Michael O'Gary, Matt (Kirsten) O'Gary, Ellie O'Gary and Owen O'Gary; great grandchildren, Tillar Martin, Trippen Martin and Hunter Strother; siblings, A.J.(Glenda Sue) Morris, Allie Belle Oliver and Doug (Judy) Morris and a host of extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Jack's honor to the American Legion Post 43, PO Box 602, Mountain View, Arkansas.
