Obeta Honeycutt Wyckoff, age 88 of the Landis Community in Marshall, Arkansas died on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at Highland Court in Marshall. She was born in a deserted, dirt floor miner's shack near Rush in Marion County, Arkansas on October 25th, 1936 to William Benjamin Steven Honeycutt and Beulah Jane McClanahan Honeycutt. She was their fourth child.

Obeta during her young life experienced a lot as a little girl. Her mother passed away at a young age and she went to live with two foster families. Her one family left Arkansas at the beginning of WW II for work in Illinois through the war years. The family moved back to Marshall at the end of WW II, where she graduated high school, and then she proceeded to Springfield, Missouri for college. At some point she moved to California to work, there she married Rollowayne Wyckoff (Holly) on July 21st, 1957 in Anaheim, California. After the birth of their son Dale in 1962, they moved back to Arkansas. Obeta eventually went to work at Ben Franklins where she was appointed to the TOY department, which she really enjoyed. She was well known by most Searcy County kids and their parents. A lot of those Adult kids still know her from their youth. Following her retirement from Ben Franklins she began doing Genealogy, and boy did she engulf herself into this new hobby? She became a quick study of computers and the rest is history. 50 binders of family history, friends, family historical data and several family books! She was still helping provide data to others until her health declined in December 2024. Obeta was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Assembly of God Church.

Obeta is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Beulah Honeycutt; her foster parents, Marshall and Toy Mann and Arlie and Mable Treat Clark; her husband of 66 years, Holly Wyckoff who passed away in 2023; brothers, J.C. Honeycutt, Melvin Honeycutt and Ray Clark; sister, Louise Honeycutt Riddle; sister-in-law, Joyce Honeycutt; and nephews, Josh Honeycutt and Harvey Honeycutt Jr.

Survivors include her son, Dale Wyckoff and wife Heidi of Palmer, Alaska; two grandchildren, Jessica Sebelius of Palmer, Alaska and Adalea Wyckoff of Palmer, Alaska; three great-grandchildren, Manvil Sebelius, Maevis Sebelius and Fin Harding; siblings, Harvey Honeycutt, Marie Honeycutt Spradlin and Bill Mann; and numerous nieces, nephews and extend family.

Graveside services for Obeta will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 5th, 2025at Elm Springs Cemetery in Marion County, Arkansas near Cozahome with Bro. Kenny McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service. Bearers will be Lance Clark, Mike Baker, Tracy Harris, Terry Honeycutt, Andrew Dye and Shannon Dye. Honorary bearers will be Duane ''Boss'' Morrison, Rex Morrison, Michael Lawrence, Randy Loggins, Jamie Massey and Chris Treat. In lieu of flowers at the request of Obeta, go buy a coke, drink it, and think of all the good times shared together.
