Oather Hankins was known as a kind and gentle man who was well loved by all who knew him. He was a great Husband, Dad, Grandpa, friend and cheerleader to many.

Oather was born on July 25, 1929 to Mart and Melissa Hankins. He departed this life on March 19, 2025 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by the two loves of his life, Earnestine (Smith) Hankins and Lois (Emerson) Hankins; his oldest son, James McDaniel; his son-in-love, Tony Kingston; his brothers, Thurman, Elbert and Mack Hankins and his sisters, Audrey Reed, Viola Burnett, Louvella Hill and Jewel Grimes. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Gene (Gwen) Hankins, Vickie Kingston and Teresa (Russell) Wilson and eleven grandchildren, Benjamin (Jordan) McDaniel, Richard (Fauna) Hankins, Cathy Hankins, Alina (Kris) Cox, Brian (Erin) Kingston, Christopher and Alicia Kingston, Kyle Rega, Christopher (Carley) Wilson, Bethany (Mitch) Hurley and Allison Wilson. He had seventeen great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kacen Cox, Sierra Terry, Kyoko (Jason) Mize, and Gunner Hankins, Myles (Vincent) Weck, Victoria, Nanette, William, and Zebediah Kingston, Olivia and Owen Garner, Opal Anderson, Jetton Grissom, Ellen, Saylor and Noa Hurley, along with two great-great grandchildren, Jade and Violet Mize.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the care provided by Gentiva Hospice and Home Instead, as well as the dedication shown by the Antioch Pastoral staff, Sylvia Matthews and Tommy Hoggard.

Visitation will be at 12:00pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, with funeral services following at 1:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wooster.
