Ernestine Vines

of Little Rock, AR

June 30, 1941 - March 17, 2025

Ernestine ''Ernie'' Vines was born in Little Rock on June 30, 1941 on an island now known as Two Rivers Park. At the young age of 5, she developed Polio. With her ferocity and determination for life, she went on to become an All-State basketball player.

Ernie and James met on a blind date - married in December of 1960 - and shared over 64 years together. They had 4 sons; Mike (Teresa), Doug, Jim (Miranda) and Jimmy (Sherry). They were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Later, Ernie and James gathered the community with the Pinnacle Valley Dairy Bar, which was special for Ernie because she loved her community and was loved in return.

She enjoyed partaking in community festivities including Halloween and Christmas hayrides and the well-known yearly fireworks display. The famous Ernie Burger was a staple within the community.

The Vines home has always been a place of comfort, support and love for family and community at any time. Ernie touched the lives of so many with her gracious and loving personality. She is and will always be truly missed.
Ernie is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Harrod Sullivan and William Ernest Sullivan; her sister, Mary Boyles and a grandson, Charlie Roller.
