Georgia James

of Searcy, AR

March 10, 1931 - February 27, 2025

A precious soul left this earth on February 27, 2025. Georgia Marie (Webb) James, born March 10th, 1931 in Blue Grove, TX, ascended to her eternity in Heaven. It's hard to describe how much she will be missed, but there's comfort in knowing her pain is gone. She was a faithful Christian, a loving mother and a devoted wife to Nelson James who preceded her in death in 2015. She spent her time making her home on the hillside a beautiful haven for her family and all guests.

Mom got her sweetness from her mother, Cuma Webb and her work ethic from her dad, John Webb. She was both so sweet and such a hard worker.

We aren't sure where mom got her competitiveness from, but man, was she competitive. She loved playing tennis in her younger days and Chinese Checkers in her later years. She never let her grandkids win a game, if she could help it. She was definitely the family Chinese Checkers champion, even right up to the end.

She and Nelson hosted countless dinners for family, friends and the Harding Bison Football Team, of which they were loyal supporters. She set an example of Christianity by visiting the widows in her church and by just being kind. She was a founding member of the Westside Church of Christ, something she was very proud of.

Georgia loved her children, Robin, Roxanne (Mark), Kelly (Jim) & Jay (Rebecca). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Jayme (Danny), Mitchell (Missy), Clinton, John Mark, Katie, Webb, Grace (Hayden), McNiel (Aly), Jodi (Adam), Jackson and Jessica and 14 great grandchildren: Ckyler, Chase, Hayden, Reid, Carly, Jacob, Connor, Sadie, Logan, Steven, Stafford, James Webb, Blake and Juliet (with little sister on the way). She was 1 of 16 children (competitiveness?) and she loved her Texas family greatly. Carl & Judy Carlson were like a son and daughter to mom. A relationship that formed when Carl & Judy were freshmen at Harding 60 years ago and remained steadfast to the end.

The family wants to thank Lisa Farmer, the staff and caregivers (Mary Lynn and Rosie) of Cornerstone Caregiving, along with Landon and staff with Gentiva Hospice. They were all awesome. Also, a special thanks to Jan Underwood, a precious soul who visited mom often.

Mom loved and was nonjudgmental. We are sure when she meets her Lord we know His words to her will be ''Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter now into the gates of Heaven.'' Until we meet again. we will forever, have Georgia on our minds.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday March, 9th from 2-4 PM in the Westside Church of Christ Chapel.
