Faye Dean Paul Lawrence - Obituary
The world became a little less bright on February 28, 2025 as we said goodbye to our dear mother and nanny, Faye Dean Paul Lawrence, at the age of 96. She lived by showing kindness, grace, mercy, understanding and love to all who crossed her path.
Born April 29, 1928 to John Franklin and Beulah Duncan Paul, she was the fourth of eight children. Growing up she and her sisters loved to sing and harmonize together and this continued even in their adult years. She attended Vilonia School. On May 22, 1944 she married E.D. ''Kink'' Lawrence when she was only 16 years old. Faye Dean was a homemaker as her children grew up. In her later years she worked for Vilonia Public Schools in the cafeteria. After her retirement she helped care for her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren before they started to school or after school care. Watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play was the highlight of her day.
She was a faithful member of Liberty Church of Christ for many years.
She was preceded in death by her spouse of 47 years, E. D. 'Kink'' Lawrence; her parents, John F. and Beulah Duncan Paul; infant son, Micheal Ray Lawrence; her brothers, Herman'' Bud'' Paul and Andrew ''Sonny Buck'' Paul and sisters, Dorthy Paul, Laverne Goss, Marvell Martin and Erma Jean Hazel.
She has one surviving sister, Sylvia Wells.
She leaves her legacy with her son, Danny Joe Lawrence (Lana) and daughters, Judy Laverne Kelley (Ronnie) and Edie Diann Turner (Mike); Eight grandchildren, Candace Coleman, Lance (Vanessa) Lawrence, Daniel (Miranda) Lawrence, Katy (Bryan) Mullins, Becky (Alex) McNespey, John Andrew 'Andy'' (Lori) Kelley, Jacob (Melinda) Turner and Clay (Kara) Turner and fifteen great- grandchildren. Her family extends to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she welcomed into her home and heart.
Faye Dean had a warm, friendly personality with an open heart, joy in her soul and a light easy laugh. Those who knew her would describe her as an angel on this earth. She wanted to make everyone feel welcome and ''at home''. Whether she was cooking in her kitchen, sewing, or working outside, she left an unforgettable mark on family, friends and anyone who was fortunate enough to be a part of her home, especially her kitchen or her front porch.
A visitation will be at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 6-8:00pm. The funeral service will be at Liberty Church of Christ in Conway on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:00am. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway.
The family would like to especially thank the owners and staff at Magnolia Landing in Greenbrier for their abundant kindness, love and care shown to our mother. Also, a special thank you to the nurses and staff with Gentiva Hospice Care.
