Joe W. Caldwell, 98, of New Blaine, Arkansas passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 in Clarksville.

Joe was born February 01, 1927 in Prairie View, Arkansas to his parents, James Madison Cauldwell and Lizzie (Jarnagin) Cauldwell. Joe was a farmer, raising dairy cattle for Sugar Creek Creamery and later switching over to beef cattle. He also would bale hay for his neighbors and friends around Scranton and New Blaine. Joe was drafted into the United States Army during World War II but never had to go off to fight due to the surrender of Japan right after he finished basic training. He loved to hunt and fish at Jude Koch Landing or Dublin Bay in his spare time and watch Wheel of Fortune while drinking Mt. Dew and chewing his Good Money chewing tobacco.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two grandsons, Danny Wheeler and Jimmy Don Savage; one granddaughter, Leanita Savage; six brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Elizabeth (Rice) Caldwell of the home; three daughters, Tricia Bentley and husband, Lee of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Diane Savage of New Blaine and Brenda Jackson of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Joseph Caldwell and wife, Starrla, Ray Savage, Bobby Jackson and Leslie Hice; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren including Fancy Caldwell, Ellie Caldwell and Ben Caldwell; several other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held form 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 28, 2025 at Roller Funeral Home followed by burial in Elizabeth Hall cemetery in New Blaine officiated by Rev. Judy Hall.

Funeral Service and arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Caldwell, Ray Savage, Lee Bentley, Ben Caldwell, Jeff Richardson, Jerry Cravens and John Calhoun.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. John Dunham and staff at Johnson Regional Medical Center and to the Johnson County Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care he received during his stay there.
