of Bald Knob, AR
February 25, 1941 - February 21, 2025
Marvin Douglas Delk Sr., also known as ''Sonny'', departed this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 21, 2025. Marvin had been under the watchful care of his wife of 65 years, Kathy (Hamilton) Delk and other hospice care professionals at his home in Bald Knob, AR since August of 2024. Marvin was four days shy of his 84th birthday and he was, in his words, ''ready to go''.
Marvin was born to Tom and Gladys (Keller) Delk in February of 1941 near Holly Grove, AR. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his brother, Larry Delk of Lexa, AR and two sisters, Carolyn McMillan of Helena, AR and Judy Paine of Searcy, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris Foley of Helena, AR.
Marvin is also survived by his three sons, Marvin Delk Jr. (Pam) of Bald Knob, AR, Jack Delk (Monica) of Searcy, AR and Dean Delk (Tamara) of Salisbury, NC; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army who loved his country. He was an avid fisherman who loved to catch and eat ''crappie''. He was a skilled carpenter and loved working with his hands. In 1978, he and his wife, Kathy started Delk Construction Company, which survives him as a prosperous family-owned and operated business.
Marvin loved the Lord Jesus and the Lord's church and was a beloved servant and brother-in-Christ to many church congregations across AR. He was a faithful steward of blessings given him and he shared his wisdom and resources by serving on administrative boards at Unity Health in Searcy, AR, Central Baptist College in Conway, AR, Lifeword Media Ministries in Conway, AR and the Housing Authority of Bald Knob, AR.
A funeral service will be held for Marvin on February 26th at Bible Church of Beebe, located at 1601 W. Center St. Beebe, AR 72012. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. All family and friends are invited.
