Lonie Joe Eugene ''Gene'' Caldwell, age 87, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on February 19, 2025.

He was born on November 25, 1937 in Swifton to Rosetta Hardin Caldwell and Lonie Joe Caldwell.

Gene was a lifelong believer of the Baptist faith, an avid gardener and above all, a hard worker. His love for tinkering was evident throughout his life, whether he was working on a forklift repair job, building cabinetry or finding new ways to keep himself busy. Gene worked in the forklift repair service industry for over 40 years and spent over 20 years in the cabinet-making business. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-particularly gardening and watching westerns.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Millie Ruth Farmer Caldwell; his parents; sister, Mary Turner; brother, Robert Caldwell and daughter-in-law, Mary J. Caldwell.

Gene is survived by his children, Ginger Wilson (James) and Michael Caldwell; granddaughters, Bonnie Weeks, Cassie Baca, Caress Webb and Josie Sneed; many great-grandchildren and countless friends and extended family who will forever hold his memory close.

A Graveside service to honor Gene's life will be held on Tuesday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.
