Clark Lee Matheny, 69, of Jonesboro, AR passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at The Blossoms Nursing Center in Newport. He was born on December 9, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Archie and Frances Matheny.

Clark graduated from Maynard High School in 1974 and entered the United States Air Force in Bitburg, Germany in 1975, where he was a supervisor and preservation specialist that did overall management of the packaging and preservation of military items, weapon systems and classified items. He received an honorable discharge in 1980.

Clark obtained some college hours at Wilbur Wright College in Bitburg, Germany and at the University of Arkansas and received an associate degree in business administration at the Texarkana Community College. He continued to work on a Bachelor of General Study at ASU from 1986-1988.

Clark worked at Sears in Hope and Nashville, Arkansas from 1980-1986 as store manager. Under his management, one store was in the top 10 in sales increase, profit and expense control. In 1986, he started factory work with Smurfit-Stone, where he was director of continuous improvement, safety and environmental coordinator and later, plant supervisor. He also worked at Camfil Farr as Quality Assurance Manager and later retired from Hytrol. He was a previous member of the American Society of Quality and was a certified quality auditor.

He was very meticulous and passionate about his work. He expected his work to bring value to the company. He worked hard and treated people with respect and he was a team player. Clark enjoyed reading, throwing horseshoes, especially with his dad and participated in several tournaments. He liked flying remote control airplanes and enjoyed working on his property and riding his motorcycle. He attended the Southwest Church of Christ.

Clark was just a ''great guy'' who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed life and always tried to be respectful and appreciative. He had a few difficult years when he developed Alzheimer's but managed with supervised care. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Patricia; his biological parents, Archie and Frances and a brother, Martin Matheny.

Left to remember Clark are his bonus mother, Della Matheny; stepson, Gregory Waddell; daughters, Lisa Jamerson (Jamie) and Amy Flanery (Timothy); grandchildren, Courtney Blackburn (David, Cory Waddell (McKenzie), Carissa Nanney (Trent), Haley Collins (Donnie), Isabella Alexander, Jett Jamerson, Jagger Jamerson, Jinson Jamerson, Angel Flanery, Austin Jamerson, Amanda Reese (Noah) and Kassie Koren (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Patricia, Jefferson, Maddison and Maverick; brother, Stewart Matheny (Pam); sisters, Julie Winberry (Greg), Tish Wells (Doug) and Vickie Fox and many friends, family and loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 beginning at 10am at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Bono.

A visitation will precede the service beginning at 9am.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jett Jamerson, Jagger Jamerson, Sheldon Koehn, Trent Nanney, Landon Thomas and Josh Cureton. Honorary pallbearer will be Stewart Matheny.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Clark's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Arkansas (201 Markham Center Drive Little Rock, AR 72205).
