of Dennard, AR
September 15, 1930 - February 4, 2025
Marjorie Ann (Swanson) Dittmer, born September 15, 1930 to Ferdinand and Carmen (Mesa) Swanson in San Diego County, California passed away February 4, 2025. Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Donna; her husband, Frank; niece, Diane and nephew, Earl.
She is survived by her children, Robert Grisham and wife, Trish, Jim Grisham and wife, Darcie, Catherine (Clubine) Turner and husband, Nevin; ten grandchildren and so many beloved great-grandchildren she often wondered in joy at her good fortune.
Marjorie grew up in Santee, California and loved dancing, riding horses, leatherwork, sewing and helping her dad. She worked hard all her life, taking each of life's twists and turns with good humor and determination.
When she moved to Arkansas in 1978, she greatly missed her Southern California home. But as the years went by, she came to love the rustic hills of northern Arkansas and its people. She spent her time working on her place, planting flowers, gardening, quilting and watching the birds and deer in her front yard. She had a soft heart for dogs and cats and accidentally adopted several over the years. Her most recent adoptions, Shelley, Bright Eyes and Persephone miss her greatly.
Services for Marjorie will be Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home Chapel located in Clinton, Arkansas. Rev. Brad Moore (Pastor of The Leslie United Methodist Church) will lead the service. Burial will be at the Dennard Cemetery in Dennard, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local pet shelter or to The Alzheimer's Association.
