Ellen Snyder Marshall, 90, of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025. She was born December 30, 1934 in Cooperstown, New York to the late Earl and Edith Snyder. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepmother, Louise Snyder and her loving husband of 62 years, Harry Wilks Marshall and brother, Wardell Snyder.
Ellen grew up on her family's dairy farm in Cherry Valley, New York. She graduated from Oneonta State Teachers College, Oneonta, New York. She met the love of her life while working summers in the Catskills, New York. Ellen was a school teacher, teaching mostly kindergarten and first grade. Ellen and Harry and the family lived and traveled all over the United States and Europe and have a lifetime of memories and special friends from the AAFES years.
Ellen leaves behind her children, H. Wilks Marshall, Jr. (Susannah), Gina Marshall both of Little Rock and Jon Marshall (Amanda) of Safety Harbor, Florida. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Robert McCraney (Ma'Tiyaa), Jacob McCraney (Melanie), Harry McCraney, Katy McCraney, Daniel Marshall and Haley Marshall and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Snyder and a host of relatives and family friends.
Ellen enjoyed cheering for the Razorbacks. She took immense pleasure in cooking with a group of ladies at ''The Kirk'' called Helping Hands. She was an avid quilter and belonged to the quilting group ''The Rippers''. She was a member of Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, Hot Springs Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her honor to Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, 275 Asturias Dr., Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909 or a charity of your choice.
