Vera Marie Fielder

of Paragould, AR

May 10, 1932 - February 2, 2025

Vera Fielder, 92, of Paragould, AR, passed from this life into the glory of Heaven on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She had lived most of her life in the Paul's Switch/Fontaine area before moving to the Chateau on the Ridge in Paragould in 2021. She was born on May 10, 1932, to Elvis and Mary Ona (Barber) Beck. She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from General Electric in 1989 and spent her retirement years fishing, gardening, and enjoying her grandsons.

Vera could always make you laugh, and her own laugh was contagious. She was always ready for an adventure. She was a Senior Olympic gold medalist and a member of the Chateau bean bag baseball team.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Harvie Fielder; infant son David; grandsons Bryon Gray and Derek Barnett; brothers Marvin Beck, Curtis Beck, Hildred Beck, and Grady Beck; sisters Lila Goodson and Betty Wilcockson; and her special friend and traveling companion whom she reconnected with later in life, Bill Felty.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Barbara (Paul) Gray of Paragould and Debbie (David) Barnett of Paragould; grandsons Blake (Kristin) Gray of Paragould and Dylan (Alex) Barnett of Paragould; great grandsons Bryson French Gray, Miles Gray, Hayes Barnett, and Beck Barnett; great granddaughter Kirkley Gray; brother Larry Beck of Walnut Ridge; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Lorado Baptist Cemetery in Lorado, AR, with Keith Fielder officiating.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 5-7pm at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401).

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Robin Rhea, Tom Fielder, Lawrence Fielder, Bryan Fielder, Tyler Fielder, and Anthony Fielder. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryson French Gray, Miles Gray, Kirkley Gray, Hayes Barnett, and Beck Barnett.

Special thanks and blessings to Debbie Farrell and all the staff at the Chateau for your quality care and loving kindness of our mother and grandmother during her last years. She called it ''Home''. She made many new friends while there and enjoyed all their time together in the cafeteria, making crafts and doing activities.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in memory of Derek Barnett.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
