July 6, 1934 - January 16, 2025
Jacquelin ''Jackie'' Elizabeth Hamilton (nee Silliman), age 90, of West Point, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. Born on July 6,1934, in Camden, Arkansas, Jackie was a force to be reckoned with-spirited, stubborn, and full of life.
Jackie was married to the love of her life, David Hamilton, for over 60 unforgettable years. Together, they built a life in West Point, Arkansas, where she proudly served as the town's postmaster for 36 years. Jackie's dedication to her community and her bold personality left a lasting mark on everyone she encountered.
Jackie's zest for life was boundless. She loved music, cherished late nights, and drove through life with the same spirited determination that often found her with a lead foot on the gas pedal. She also had a deep love for fishing, spending countless hours on the Little Red River catching crappies. While her strong will could make her challenging at times, those who knew her best loved her for her uncompromising spirit.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David, her parents Iva and Eugene Silliman, and her sister Iva Jean Silliman Anderson. Jackie is survived by her loving sons, Michael Hamilton of Cabot (Lenore), and Mitchell Hamilton of Searcy (Laura); her adoring grandchildren, Jeff Hamilton of Cabot (Vanessa), Jennifer Murphy of Atlanta, Georgia (Craig), Julie Fiser of Little Rock (Jake), Matthew Hamilton of Alexander (Rachel), Tyler Bankston of Forney, Texas (Tucker); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Ian, Lilah, Fiona, Callahan, Maxwell, and Molly.
Jackie's legacy is one of resilience, adventure, and a life lived unapologetically on her own terms. She leaves behind a family who will carry forward her values and memories, honoring the remarkable woman she was.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held Saturday February 1st at Roller Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas at 1:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm. Rest easy, Jackie. May your nights forever be filled with music, your roads free of speed limits, and your fishing lines always tugged with promise.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs at Providence Care and Gentiva Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given mom. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P O Box 692, Kensett, AR 72082.
