of Byhalia, MS
December 29, 1954 - January 8, 2025
Nancy Ferralasco Taylor of Byhallia, Mississippi left this life to eternal joy with our Lord on January 8, 2025 following a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Born December 29, 1954 to Robert and Gloria Ferralasco and big sister, Betty at Verser Clinic in Harrisburg, AR. Back then they kept the mommas and newborn babies a little longer in the hospital, so when it was time for the little family to be dismissed, sis, Betty had bonded with the big, chunky (as their Momma put it) baby boy in the bassinette next to Nancy's. After some overly gentle persuasion with Betty, they were off on their life journey to College Circle, Arkansas State College.
Nancy is survived in death by her dearest, beloved husband, Don: cherished sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Moad; child, Christen Gray and spouse, Devon of El Paso, Texas; Christopher and Isabel Taylor of Mt. Pleasant MS and ever beloved stepmother, Brenda Gordon Ferralasco. She is also survived by beloved nephew, Michael Davidson and spouse, Stacy; nephew, Aiden and niece, Emma of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There would not be enough hours in the day to list the numerous cousins, in laws, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Nancy grew up in Jonesboro, graduating from Hurricane Class of 1973. She went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University and received her master's degree from UALR. Although she spent many happy productive years in health care administration, she became an RN in her early 30's. Life eventually drew her back to Northeast Arkansas for a while and new adventures.
She was blessed with motherhood through adoption of a precious little girl named Chrissy. She and Chrissy were living an active, full, happy life in South Jonesboro, while working in nursing, hospital care, home health and nursing home. Life was very good. One day while she and Chrissy circled the block on a scooter, the new neighbor was outside and waved and Nancy waved back, in a hurry before the mosquitoes carried them away. After many waves and hellos, this kind man, Don Taylor, would become her true love, best friend and strength and support. Don's job eventually required him to move to their little piece of paradise in North Mississippi. During their twenty plus years together, they have battelled tough times with health challenges, joyful times of closeness to family and of the thousands of hours loving family and watching them grow. But mostly, praising God for their times just being together. If their patio walls had ears. There would be countless hours of laughter, rejoicing and a few tears. And probably a hundred times from the mouth of Don, ''Now I know why God encouraged me to buy that house many years back in the swampy rice fields of Jonesboro.''
The memorial service will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Ave, Jonesboro.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to Northeast Arkansas Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
