Taft Ealy, Jr.

Taft Ealy, Jr., 74, of Conway, AR was born on May 17, 1950 to the late Taft Ealy, Sr. and Hester Thompson Ealy in Damascus, Arkansas. He made his entrance into Heaven on January 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael F. Ealy and five brothers, Woodrow, Hubert, Calvin, Clifton and Kapolean Ealy. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verlean Fields and Nadean Guiden.

Taft professed a hope in Christ at an early age with the Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was married to Anna Ealy on September 16, 1972 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. They enjoyed spending time with each other and traveling with family and friends. Taft was his grandchildren's number 1 fan and enjoyed chauffeuring grandkids around. Taft, affectionately known as Papa and Paw. Paw became famous on THV11 after a video surfaced of him racing his grandson, Jase, on his four wheeler. Paw was then named Grandparent of the Week. Taft loved gardening, hunting, fishing, farming and feeding the cows. He enjoyed listening to the Blues and watching Westerns. He retired from the City of Conway, Allied Bus, Conway Public Schools and Faulkner Day School.

Taft leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sweetheart, Anna Ealy; his baby girl, Ann Marie Jackson (Antwan); his son, Taft Ealy, III (Shaneil) and his goddaughter, MaKayla Aiken (Corey). He also leaves many loving grandchildren who adored him, Antwanette and Chris Jackson, Jase and Henderson Ealy, Mishon, Jaylin, Kennedy Ealy, Jacolby Wright and Rodrick Warren. Mr. Ealy is also survived by his unborn great-grandchild, McKinley, lovingly anticipated by his granddaughter, Antwanette.

He is survived by six brothers, Howard (Telitha) Ealy, Billy L.C. (Carolyn) Ealy, Dennis (Annie) Ealy, Ralph (Rebecca) Ealy and William T. (Loretta) Ealy all of Twin Groves, AR and Bobby T.L. (Ernestine) Ealy of Shawnee, OK. He is also survived by one sister, Almenta Blackwell of Twin Groves, AR and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 14th at 11:00am at the Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Monday, January 13th from 6 - 8 pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will be at Solomon Grove Cemetery.
