Jack E. Richardson, a cherished husband, father and grandpa, known for his kind, loving, caring and humorous personality, left us on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born on May 14, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, Jack lived a Christian life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. He was a graduate of Brookland High School and a long-time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

He began his career with the National Guard in 1957 and retired in 1994 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3, at which time he began his second career as the director for the Office of Emergency Management Services in Craighead County, a title he held for 13 years.

Jack was active in the Radio Club, MOA, the American Legion and he helped start the Farrville Fire Department, where he was the 1st Fire Chief. He could be found on most Saturdays enjoying breakfast at Huddle House and getting his reward points and visiting and joking with others. He never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Carrie (Houchin) Richardson and his younger brother, Tom Richardson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara; his children, Tami Freeman of Jonesboro, Jack Jr. (Kathy) of Saginaw, MI, Terri (Terry) Presley of Pocahontas and Laura (Matt) Hollis of Rector; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro on Monday, January 6, 2025 with Rev. Billy Vanderbilt officiating. Visitation will be at 1:30pm with the service beginning at 2:30pm. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, AR.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jim Presley, Allen Presley, Tyler Cook, Kyle Hollis, James Richardson, Xander Flemon, Sawyer Flemon and Keegan Presley.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
