Jean Stevenson Beall, 99, of Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024.

Jean was born in Huntington, AR to Rev. EE Stevenson and Ada Brown Stevenson on Sept 21, 1925. As the daughter of a Methodist minister, Jean and her sisters, Ada Allen and Ebby Stevenson, spent their childhood in several towns across the state, as her father was called to lead churches in those areas. (Jean is preceded in death by her parents and sisters.)

Jean was a student at the University of Arkansas when in January 1946, she met Allein Beall of Helena on a blind date. It was love at first sight and they married in Jonesboro on August 28, 1946. They shared 77 years of marriage, one of the longest on record in Arkansas, until Allein's passing in late 2023.

The couple spent most of their married life in Helena where they raised their three daughters. Jean was active in the community, serving on the library board, on the Red Cross board, as an Election Day volunteer and many other volunteer activities. As a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, she served as president of the Altar Guild for many years. Her greatest love was being a fulltime mother and homemaker. After she and Allein lovingly restored an early 1900's home on Perry Street, the home became a place where young people were welcomed and many special events were held. In retirement, the couple enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

Jean is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth ''Tootsie'' and Ron Hickman of Memphis, Nina and Edmond Waters of Little Rock, Jeanie and Jim Berna of Little Rock; her grandchildren, J Hickman (Sissy), Pat Hickman (Stephanie), Laura Waters Hinson (Tommy), Angela Waters Dow, AJ Berna (Liz), Nate Berna (Chase) and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St John's Episcopal Church in Helena, St Andrews Anglican Church in Little Rock or a charity of your choice.
