Charles Richard DavisI am a Veteran.

of Omaha, AR

February 29, 1948 - December 18, 2024

Charles R. Davis, 76, of Dubuque Ridge Road in Omaha, passed away on December 18, 2024, at Hospice of the Hills surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Harrison to the late William Jay Davis and Eva (Richardson) Davis.

Charles was a lifelong resident of Boone County. He was a hard worker and was always there to help a family, friend, or neighbor. Charles worked in his early days delivering furniture for years at Keeter Furniture. He was a member of the National Guard for a short time. He ran heavy equipment for years and was well known as a road grader operator for the Boone County Road Department. Charles left there in 1994 and helped in taking care of many peoples' farms in Omaha. He was well known for finding good deals on vehicles, lawnmowers, and tractors. People around Omaha knew him as the lawn mower/tractor guy. He spent the last few years helping many local auto dealerships and the airport pick up cars all across the United States. Charles loved to be outside, and he loved to take people to his famous pots of deer chili. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and visiting with family and friends. He was most proud of his family. He was an excellent caretaker of his wife as she began losing her sight. He was so proud of all that his children and grandchildren accomplished and loved spending time with them. Charles was a unique man from the start, being born on leap year day, and was a one-of-a-kind person who people did not forget.

Charles was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Eugene, Harold, Edward, Glen, James, Kenny, and Norman Davis; and sisters Alliene Rose, Irene Wade, and Esther Virnig. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Norvena; children, Richard Davis and Maria Rogers and husband Chris; grandchildren Braeden, McKenna, Callen, and Aria Rogers; his brother, Doy Davis and wife Lita; brother-in-law Jack and sister-in-law, Marilyn Rose; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
