May 16, 1950 - December 11, 2024
Seth Michael ''Mike'' Kieffer, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. He was born on May 16, 1950 in Jonesboro, AR to Seth and Clara (Terwilliger) Kieffer. Mike graduated from Weiner High School as an honor graduate in 1968. He attended Arkansas State University until 1972 and joined with his dad in forming Kieffer and Kieffer Farms and farmed together for 19 years. He and his wife, Linda, later enlarged the operation, forming a partnership called Mike and Linda Kieffer Farms, which they farmed together for 21 years until retiring in 2014. Mike was born with farming in his blood and his love for it was undeniable.
Mike served on the board at Craighead Farmers Coop and the local Riceland Foods, he was the past president of the Weiner Alumni Association, Chairman of the Campground Commission at Camp Powderfork and was named Farm Family of the Year for Poinsett County in 1996. He was very involved in church activities at Community of Christ, including Kids Bible Club and most recently he volunteered at Life in Victory Recovery Center at Bald Knob.
Mike met Linda when he was 14 years old at the church youth retreat. He said the minute he saw Linda, God told him that he was going to marry her. They were married on October 9, 1969 and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Conard Sutherland.
Left to cherish the memory of Mike are his devoted wife, Linda Mitchell Kieffer; sons, Chad Kieffer of Fayetteville and Britt (Ashley) Kieffer of Weiner; sisters, Brenda (Tim) Gartman and Myra Sutherland and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of the 4th Floor East at NEA Baptist Hospital for the exceptional care they gave to Mike.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11am at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with John Sawyer officiating.
