Gerald (Jerry) Grovhoug, 88, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jerry was a loyal brother, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

Jerry dedicated his life to serving his country, embarking on a distinguished military career that spanned the globe. From the Philippines and Guam to Okinawa, Greece, and Germany, he embraced every challenge with courage and determination. A Vietnam veteran, Jerry earned numerous awards for his outstanding performance, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and NCO Airman of the Year Award. He achieved the rare rank of Chief Master Sergeant, culminating his service at Strategic Air Command Headquarters.

After his retirement from the Air Force, Jerry and his wife, Virginia, moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where they built a life filled with laughter and love. They enjoyed square dancing and spending time with family and friends. Jerry was known for his infectious laugh and his playful sense of humor. He had a kind heart, frequently volunteering for veterans and other charitable organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; his sons, David and Mark(Cindi); his sister, Karen Stephenson; and his grandchildren, Sonja and Nathan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jerry will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
