John Hardin Reno, 82, passed away December 6, 2024 in Conway, Arkansas. John was born May 2nd, 1942 in Malvern, Arkansas to Hardin Vance Reno and Virginia Cox Reno.
John is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ann Reno Norman.
The Reno family moved to Conway when John was in the 9th grade. He was active in scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Conway High School in 1960 and Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech.
While a student at Arkansas State Teachers College, John was a disc jockey for radio station KCON which was located on campus. He was president of Alpha Psi Omega drama fraternity and was selected for membership in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
It was at Arkansas State Teachers College that John met his wife, Judy Keathley Reno. They were married on June 4th, 1965 and recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.
John's career in sales and marketing led him to employment at the Log Cabin Democrat, Universal Nolin and Choice Point One. In retirement he enjoyed his friends and co-workers at River Town Pawn.
He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed many days hunting with his son, John Christopher; his brother-in-law, Mike Norman and nephew, Andrew Norman.
John loved taking his family to Lobo's Fishing Resort on the Little Red River where they relaxed and shared countless hours of memories.
John is survived by his wife, Judy; son, John Christopher Reno (Valerie Fiveash) and his daughter, Jamie Ryan (Chris). Three grandchildren, Jackson Reno, Noah Ryan and Anna Grace Ryan.
He is survived by his closest friend and brother-in-law, Mike Norman of Conway; His cousin, Sarah Eppler (Jim) of Malvern, Arkansas, nephew, Andrew Norman of Conway and niece, Hannah Devor (Christy) of Little Rock, Arkansas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held December 10th, 2024 at 10:30 at Conway's First Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Wicker and Kyle Cochran officiating, followed immediately by visitation in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Conway's First Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 1719 Robinson Ave. Conway, AR 72034
