Susan Greer Garrott Smith of Cordova died December 1, 2024 at home and surrounded by her family.

Susan was born in Memphis on March 7, 1957 to Rev. and Mrs. B. Greer Garrott (Jean). Susan attended White Station High School, where she was voted ''most vivacious'' and graduated in 1975. She worked as a flight attendant for both Southern and Republic Airlines before meeting her husband, David. They married in 1982 and raised three children together (Michael, Kristen and Laura). Susan attended and worked as the Youth Ministry Secretary for First Evangelical Church for many years. She spent her later years helping care for her granddaughter who was born with special needs.

Susan loved Jesus and loved to tell others about him. Her humor and playful sarcasm put others at ease and she was frequently compared to her favorite TV character, Lucy Riccardo. Susan loved the beach, UT Vols football and listening to Christmas music in August.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Dr. David Smith; her children, Michael, Kristen (Paul) and Laura and her five cherished grandchildren, Hayes, Harrison, Nolan, Caroline and Cooper. She also leaves behind her younger sister, Rachel Kullman (Sonny) of Flowood, MS.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. B. Greer Garrott (Jean).

In lieu of flowers, Susan requested that donations be made to the Macky & Friends Special Needs Ministry at Hope Presbyterian Church, on behalf of her granddaughter, Caroline.
