Billy H HoggardI am a Veteran.

of Conway, AR

December 21, 1931 - October 29, 2024

Billy Harrell Hoggard departed this world on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. He was the 92 years old, son of E.J. and Estell Hoggard. He lived in Conway since 1957, but grew up in Enola, AR. He was a proud graduate of Enola High School and an Enola Tiger.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rena Hoggard; his parents and three sisters, Selma Wooley, Jessie Lee Glover and Joann Whitaker.

He is survived by his brother, Tommy Hoggard of Conway; two children, Glen Hoggard and wife, Denise of Little Rock and Diane Jackson of Conway; four grandchildren, Jai Stephenson and husband, Chad of Greenbrier, Taylor Harrington and husband, Brandon of Little Rock, Hank Hoggard of Bella Vista and Hal Hoggard of Little Rock and three greatgrandchildren, Harper and Hadlee Stephenson and Judah Harrington.

With his young family, Mr. Hoggard returned to Conway from Russellville, AR in 1957 for employment at what was then the Arkansas Children's Colony. He was the business manager of the Conway Human Development Center for 38 years before retirement. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Conway since 1957, serving for many years as the Church Clerk.

An avid supporter and fan of Central Baptist College, Mr. Hoggard was inducted into the inaugural class of the CBC Sports Hall of Fame. His induction was based on his loyalty and support of CBC and the Mustangs, having never actually attended Central Baptist College.

Mr. Hoggard suffered from senile dementia. Yet his ready smile and blue eyes endeared him to his caregivers and all those with whom he came in contact. The family wishes to express special thanks to the talented and caring staff at Ridgemere Memory Care, the Conway office of AR Hospice and the sage advice and care of Dr. Thad Hardin.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway on Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Friday, November 1st at Antioch from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Central Baptist College Bill Hoggard Endowed Scholarship, 1502 College Ave., Conway, AR, 72034.

Bill ran a good race, he finished the fight and he now revels in glory. He will be missed by his loving family. There is great joy in mourning the loss of a life well lived.
