Wade Oliver Gibson Sr., 91, of Proctor, Arkansas passed away October 4, 2024 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on August 19, 1933 to George and Grace (Dennis) Gibson in Fisher, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Gibson; his first wife, Rosemary Circus; his son, Wade Jr.; his parents; brothers, Roy W., Elmer Gibson and Burley Sears and sisters, Lillian O'Donnell, Ruth West, Willie Kay Kennedy and Gertie Cunningham.
Wade enlisted into the United States Navy in 1950 where he served two years during the Korean War. After the Navy, he worked at Rath's Meat Packing Co. in Waterloo, Iowa. He also worked as a carpenter, where he would lay carpet and flooring. In 1970, Wade and his family moved to West Memphis, Arkansas where him and his nephew, Harold O'Donnell, opened Carpets Inc. After he retired from the carpet business, he owned several rental properties, until a couple of years ago when he finally retired. Wade loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Wade is survived by his daughters, Julie (Billy) Abel of Springfield, MO, Linda May (Marty Stephens) of Proctor, AR and Monica (Brad) Niemann of Russellville, AR; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Alicia Gagnon, Anna May, Adam Stephens, Abigail Niemann and Eli Niemann and 6 great grandchildren, Sierra, Kaileigh and Emlyn Stewart, Brennan Gagnon, Carson and Courtlyn Bacon. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
