William Michael Holt

of Harrison, AR

January 6, 1953 - October 1, 2024

William Michael Holt, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at his home on October 1, 2024 at the age of 71. Born on January 6, 1953 in Harrison, Arkansas to Harold Mitchell and Margaret Ann (Reifsteck) Holt, Michael's life was marked by love, adventure and unwavering support for those he cherished. As the third of four children, his childhood on the Holt family farm was rich with adventure and mischief, shaping him into the caring and compassionate man he grew to be.

Growing up in Harrison, Michael attended Harrison High School, graduating in 1971. His youthful spirit inspired him to pursue a variety of passions, including target and skeet shooting, as well as coon and squirrel hunting with friends. A true lover of the rodeo, he spent many years as a rodeo clown, bringing laughter and delight to countless events while capturing memorable moments as a photographer.

Professionally, Michael worked alongside his family at Holt Glass and Sporting Goods before becoming the owner of Holt, Inc. His dedication and hard work in his business reflected his commitment to serving the community he loved.

Michael married Pat Bell in their hometown of Harrison, AR on October 6, 1984. Together, they built a wonderful life filled with love. As a devoted father, he found immense joy in every moment spent with their daughter, Adeline. He loved playing sports with her and cheering her on at her events, as well as spending lazy afternoons fishing and shooting guns together. Michael was her steadfast supporter, always encouraging her to chase her dreams. Some of Addie's favorite memories of her dad are when he led her around on her little black pony, as well as the times he lovingly crafted a cherished two-story pink playhouse at their family home and created a chicken coop at Addie and Ethan's place, affectionately dubbed the ''Chicken Mansion''. He spent countless hours on Addie and Ethan's farmette, helping with various projects and enjoying precious moments with his grandson, Cooper, whom he affectionately referred to as his "little buddy".

A true patriot, he instilled a deep love for the country in his family and set a remarkable example with his integrity and kindness. Friends would describe him as loyal, trustworthy and dependable-someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Michael had a profound appreciation for history, particularly military history and spent many evenings watching westerns with Pat, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Pat Holt; his daughter, Adeline and her husband, Ethan Courter of Harrison, Arkansas and his cherished grandson, Cooper Michael Courter. He is also survived by his brothers, Doug (Joyce) Holt and Gary (Sheryl) Holt; his sister, Gail (William "Buzz" Spencer) Andrews and numerous extended family members, including nieces and nephews, along with many friends who will dearly miss him.
