Charles W. Gipson, age 76, passed away at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas on September 25, 2024, following a brief illness. Charles was born May 25, 1948, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Virgil and Marjorie Gipson.

As a child, he participated in Little League baseball and Cub Scouts, loved riding his bicycle, and enjoyed playing with his cousins on his grandparents' farm. He was a hard worker from an early age, delivering newspapers on his bicycle and later working at Ben Franklin 5 & 10. As a Golden Goblin, he lettered in basketball and graduated in 1966 from Harrison High School. After graduation, he became an Airman with the United States Air Force.

Later in life, he studied electronics, operated a humane society facility, and enjoyed his family. He was a lifetime lover of music and shared his knowledge of performers with both friends and family. Throughout his life, he was a faithful follower of Jesus.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Virginia Pennington (David); his son, Charles W. Gipson Jr. (Jessica); and four grandchildren, Caleb Pennington, Bethany Pennington, Sam Gipson, and Sierra Gipson. Additionally, Charles is survived by two sisters, Betty Hopper and Arleen Finke (Michael); two nephews; and a long-time friend, Ron Hopper.


Services will be at Roller-Christenson Funeral Home, Harrison, Arkansas, on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
