of Harrison, AR
April 8, 1951 - September 21, 2024
Elaine (Templeton) Warren passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). She was born April 8, 1951, in San Rafael, California to John Adam and Virginia Anne Templeton. The family moved back to Nucla, Colorado when she was a child. She graduated from Nucla High School in 1969 and spent time in Colorado, Oklahoma & Nevada before moving to Arkansas in 1987, where she remained a resident of the Marshall area until moving to Harrison to live with her daughter.
During her teenage years, Elaine enjoyed participating in regional rodeos, barrel-racing, calf-roping, goat-tying, and even the occasional bronc-busting across Western Colorado, winning several rodeo queen titles. In her young adult years, she enjoyed bowling, which she was very competitive and was known for her ''Elaine Stomp'' if she threw a bad ball (which was a rarity).
Elaine took great pride in cheering for her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She proudly wore her children's sports ''buttons'' and never missed a game. Another great passion of hers was cooking, decorating, and making Christmas candy during the holidays with friends and family. She loved her Denver Broncos and made it a point to watch football on Sundays.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, John Adam and Virginia Anne Templeton; sisters, Nita Mae Templeton and Laura Catherine Cloud; brother, John Allen ''Jack'' Templeton; grandson, Benjamin Warren; and many other family and friends who will dearly miss her.
Survivors include her sister, Jane Anne Templeton of Fruitland Park, Florida; children, Lance (Pansy) James of Goshen, Arkansas, Michelle Henderson of Harrison Arkansas, Casey (Tara) Warren of Marshall Arkansas, and Anne (Logan) Gallagher of Marshall Arkansas; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Elaine's name to Hospice of the Hills, 501 E Sherman Ave., Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
