Wilma Colleen McKenzie Morgan passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21. She was born October 2, 1931 on the family farm near Quitman, Arkansas to Robert and Thelma Duncan McKenzie. Her sister, Carma McKenzie Hatley, was 10.
When she was five the family moved to Dermott, Arkansas. She graduated from Dermott High School then began working at First State Bank, now First Service Bank.
She met the love of her life through her lifelong friends, Jimmy and Jean Reed, when they all met one afternoon while crossing the street in Dermott. Will and Colleen met in August, married in December and celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Colleen loved taking care of her family. She believed in doing the right thing. An avid gardener, she loved growing family heirloom plants and passing them along to family members for their gardens.
For many years Colleen worked in the insurance industry at the Home Insurance Company, then at Meadors & Adams as Allan Meadors' assistant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband. Colleen is survived by her daughter, Vicki Morgan; Grandson, Daniel Taylor and Great-Grandson, Brooks Taylor; cousins, Billie Jean Duncan Hall, Troy Duncan, Meverine Duncan Gannaway and Keitha McKenzie Carter and 13 nieces and 11 nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
