of Flippin, AR
May 30, 1937 - August 13, 2024
Terry Zeigler Baker peacefully gained her angel wings at the age of 87 on August 13, 2024 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born near Crooked Creek on May 30, 1937 to Clarence and Mary (Cheek) Richardson. Growing up on a dairy farm with her siblings, Terry learned the value of hard work early on. She attended Yellville-Summit School. Later, she married Fred Zeigler and together they started their life's journey.
After moving to Independence, Missouri for work, Terry proudly earned her GED and attended business classes. The call of home led her and Fred to return to Yellville in 1971 and the following year, they welcomed their youngest son. Terry spent over 25 years working for Baxter Healthcare and she built a reputation for her Spotless home and beautiful yard, cultivating plants with a green thumb admired by all. Her children fondly recall her spotless home, jokingly blaming her for their enduring distance for dusting.
Terry faced heartbreak when her husband, Fred, passed away in 1984. She found love again with Richard Baker in 1993, gaining three daughters. Though they had dreams of traveling, Richard's health prevented this. Terry continued to live a fulfilling life, surrounded by family, until her health began to decline in 2015.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Cheryl) Zeigler of Flippin, Arkansas, Renee (Bill) Parton of Yellville, Arkansas and Rick (Kelley) Zeigler of Yellville, Arkansas; stepdaughters, Beth (David) Hancock of Madisonville, Kentucky, Christine Baker Perry of Tucson, Arizona and Karrie Maeda of Palmdale, California. Terry is also survived by her brother, Floyd Richardson of Yakima, Washington; sister, Helen Hensley of Yellville, Arkansas; along with five grandchildren, Jeanette, Mikala, Ian, John and Jarrett; six great-grandchildren, Megan, Lily, Amber, Sawyer, Gunnar and Denver; plus two great-great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, infant son, John Wesley Zeigler and three sisters, Geneva Tabor, Joy Adams and Betty Gaye Wood.
A visitation will be held at Roller-Burns Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 am. Funeral service to follow at 11:00am with Bro. Jerry Tinsley officiating. Interment is at Peel cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mikala Parton, Ian Parton, John Zeigler, Jarrett Zeigler, David Carson and James Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Gundry, Mark Carson, Dean Rodgers and the staff of Hospice of the Ozarks.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas, a facility that held a special place in Terry's heart.
