Freda St. Columbia, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in Helena, Arkansas. She was born on Monday, July 1, 1935 in Helena to the late Fred and Alma (Ford) Etoch. Freda was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a member of St. Mary's Alter Society. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends especially to the beach. Freda was a graduate of the first nursing class at Phillips County Community College where she received her degree and began her career as a registered nurse. She worked her entire career at Helena Regional Medical Center. Freda dedicated over forty years providing nursing care to her patients and their families.
Freda is survived by her son, Kirk Williamson (Lisa) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four daughters, Lisa Schafer of Marion, Arkansas; Karen Bradshaw (Eddie) of Rogers, Arkansas; Phillis Gore (Casey) of Greenwood, Arkansas and Marilyn St. Columbia of Karnes City, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, Joey Schafer, Brian Schafer, Taylor Stamps, Lanie Skoff, Blake Bradshaw, Aaron Bradshaw, Adams Williamson, Aidan Williamson, Katelyn Gibson, Caroline Coles, Bentley Walleck, Jase Walleck and Cole Gore and six great-grandchildren, Dixie Schafer, Rose Schafer, Ava Schafer, Aubrey Jo Schafer, Rowyn Gibson and Gavin Carlson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alma Etoch; husbands, Howard Williamson and Philip St. Columbia; two sisters, Margie Ross; Betty Fuel; brother, Fred Etoch and grandsons, Chris Schafer and Landon Williamson.
Her Compassionate caregivers: Nancy Glidewell, Regina Robinson, Loyce Corbit, B.J. Bear and Virginia Moore.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Bradshaw, Blake Bradshaw, Joey Schafer, Brian Schafer, Adams Williamson, Aidan Williamson and Casey Gore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena on Saturday August 10, 2024. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Helena. Father Gilbert Tairo and Father James Ibeh will officiate.
