Arthur Malcum

of Conway, AR

December 20, 1946 - July 20, 2024

Arthur Malcum, a cherished member of our family, transitioned back to his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2024. Born on December 20, 1946 in Readland, AR to Lula and Joe Malcum, Arthur was the eighth child of fourteen children. Arthur's life was a testament to strength, determination and an unwavering love for those around him.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings; brothers, Joe Mack, Jr., Blanch Mack, Clarence Malcum, Elmo Mack, Stanley Mack and sisters, Roberta Spencer, Luella Cooper, Mittie Perkins and Mary Lasker.

From an early age, Arthur found solace and joy in his faith. He professed his love for Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior, demonstrating his devotion by actively participating in church life.

Throughout his years, Arthur attended many churches, but his final faithful membership was at Harrison and Willow Street Church of Christ. There, he served diligently, attending Sunday School, regular services and taking up the offering and disbursing communion to the congregation and Vacation Bible Class when scheduled.

Arthur's dedication did not go unnoticed. He was honored with several recognitions from the Harrison and Willow Street Church of Christ, including a Certificate of Appreciation in 1997, the "Jesus Special Friend" award in 2012 and the "Grounded with Jesus" award in 2014.

Arthur's life was enriched by his love for his family and simple joys. He delighted in watching westerns and nothing made him happier than the sight of firetrucks and log trucks. His excitement and joy were contagious, spreading warmth to everyone around him.

Arthur leaves behind four loving sisters, Valeria Britton of Oakland, CA; Martha (Nathaniel) Williams of Alexander, AR; Emmer Williams of Conway, AR and Linda Balenton of Carrollton, TX and three special nieces, Janice Fletcher, Diane Credit and Joyce Fletcher all of Conway, AR.

Though his passing leaves a void in our hearts, his legacy endures in the cherished memories of his kindness, strength and profound love for Christ.

As we mourn the loss of our beloved Arthur, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the deep, abiding faith that guided him. Arthur's life was such a blessing to others and his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
