of Harrison, AR
December 2, 1952 - July 15, 2024
Edward Lynn Humphrey, Sr., age 71, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born on December 2, 1952, in Marshall Arkansas, the son of Jimmy and Lucille Humphrey. Ed is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Humphrey; his mother, Lucille Humphrey and his brother, David Humphrey.
Ed was a classic country fella and could be found most days enjoying a good country song. He was one of the hardest working men you'd ever meet, loved his family tremendously, and very much enjoyed being outside in nature. In Ed's younger years, he loved hunting and fishing. He raised a little ruckus with his brothers until he met Rita, the love of his life for over 49 years. They had three kids all while moving around the country. Being raised in a family with a father and brothers who all did drywall, Ed naturally made it his lifelong trade. He enjoyed working. The profession took him all over the country. He worked in Alaska, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. Many times Ed would be gone for months and his return home always stirred excitement with Rita and the kids, because they loved and missed him so much while he was gone.
Later in life, Ed liked going and checking on his cows with his wife, Rita. He loved it when his grandkids would come over and stay the night. He adored being a papa and made sure he was involved in everything they did. Ed was a blessed man. He gave his heart to Christ and we are certain he is in our future. He will be missed and is loved by many.
Ed is survived by his wife, Rita; his sons, Eddie (Liz) Humphrey of Harrison and Greg Humphrey of Harrison; his daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Jones of Harrison; his brothers, Dale Humphrey and Jeff Humphrey both of Omaha and his sister, Jimmie Lou ''Boo'' Curtis of Omaha. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Kade Humphrey, Faith Humphrey, Jenna Mae Jones, Hope Humphrey, Lila Jones, Beckett Humphrey, and Jett Jones.
Pallbearers were Justin Jones, Kade Humphrey, Beckett Humphrey, Tyler Phillips, Jett Jones, and Brock Humphrey.
