Johnny William HamiltonI am a Veteran.

of Cleveland, AR

December 26, 1949 - July 10, 2024

It was the day after Christmas, 1949, when Howard and Lorene Hamilton of Stanislaus County, California were given their most precious gift of the Christmas season. They celebrated the blessed birth of their second child, Johnny William Hamilton.

Johnny grew up in a large household with his parents and six siblings. His brother Jody was the oldest, followed by Johnny and the younger children Alice, Ray, Kay, Lynette and Susan. With a household of nine, there wasn't a lot of money to go around but there was always plenty of love and the prime example of two hard-working parents.

Sergeant First Class John Hamilton was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served his country for decades and received numerous medals and awards, which his mother displayed proudly in her home. He traveled the world experiencing the picturesque landscapes and timeless beauty of foreign lands, but was proud upon retirement, to return to his native Arkansas home. His later years were spent enjoying the peace and tranquility of Woolverton Mountain surrounded by the natural beauty of its woodlands.

John loved his wife, children and grandchildren and in return, he was very much loved by them. He had a big heart for people and his charity was boundless. He opened his door to anyone in need and gave with unconditional love.

John passed from this life on July 10, 2024 at the age of 74. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Hamilton and his children, Jennifer (Eugene) Rooney, Johnna Graham, Jody (David) Dixon, Jack (Amber) Montgomery, Brooke (Abrahan) Marquez, April (James) Willis, Krystal Leach and Charles Newman. In addition to his children were those he loved as his own: Theresa Martin, Kathy Clements, Crystal Bigelow and Thomas Bigelow. He leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. And lastly, the ones who've loved him the longest, his brother and sisters: Alice Chambers, Ray (Cindi) Hamilton, Kay (Ladoy) Lewis, Lynette (Michael) Jones and Susan DeNicolo.

John was preceded in death by parents, Edward Howard and Juanita Lorene James Hamilton; brother, Joseph Marriam Hamilton; daughter, Tara Hamilton and grandchildren, Emery Campbell and Cody Montgomery. How blessed we are to have loved so deeply that makes saying goodbye so hard; however, may the knowledge of this reunion in God's glory comfort our hearts.

The honor of being his pallbearers goes to John C. Hamilton, Morgan Rooney, Joseph Rooney, Paul Strack, William Pierce, Charlie Rockwood and Jeremy Story. The honorary pallbearer are Donald Favers and Abrahan Marquez. Special thank you to Jenni at Gentiva Hospice.
