Jackie (Jack) J. Hudson, age 85, entered eternal life through the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born May 15, 1939 to Russell Hudson and Dovie (Richardson) Hudson Matlock in Lowry, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Barbara (Foresee) Hudson, his parents and two step-brothers, Johnny Matlock and Gerald Matlock.

Jack is survived by two children, Dianna Lee (Dwayne) of Farmington, Arkansas and Dwain Hudson (Amy) of Harrison, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Paige Estes (Cory), Nathan Hudson (Victoria), Henry Lee (Amanda) and Hayden Lee; six great-grandchildren, Bella and Burley Estes, Hugh and Hollyn Hudson and Hayes and James Lee and two step-brothers, Stanley Matlock of Missouri and Charles Ray Matlock of Oregon.

Jack lived his full life within a couple of miles from where he was born, but he and his wife, Barbara, traveled to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and Europe. He was a cattle farmer for 75 years; he received his first calf from his grandpa Richardson in 1946 at the age of 7. He loved his family and his farm and would gladly tell you about them. He was an avid storyteller and never met a stranger.


Visitation was on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

The funeral service was on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Don Crosswhite officiating.

The interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack's grandsons, Dakota Akers and Austin Williams.


His family appreciates all the kindness and support that was provided by his friends and neighbors over the years.
