July 20, 1937 - May 16, 2024
Glenda Louise Jones, 86, of Marked Tree, AR was called home on May 16, 2024
Glenda was born on July 20,1937 to Clyde and Grace Hayse. She grew up with her brothers and sisters in the bayou, "where the crawdads sing". She became known as "Dinkie" to her family and friends. She attended school in Marked Tree and Dyess, AR. The story has been told that she picked cotton and rode the school bus with a certain "man in black".
She married the love of her life, Reginald Jones, Sr. on September 17, 1955,and began her family. They had 4 children; Debbie, Skip, Vickie and Teresa. She spent many years as a wife, homemaker and mother. Her children were her everything. As they grew up, she began working outside the home and made many lifelong friends. Glenda was known for her wit, her contagious smile and laugh, and the whistle that everyone knew meant it was time to come home. In her free time, she attended many sports events, enjoyed cooking big Sunday dinners for her family and spinning the reel at the Wildwood every now and then. She battled and conquered several health issues that she overcame with dignity and grace. As her family continued to grow with grandchildren and great-grandchildren she became "Gran" to everyone. She shared a lifetime of wisdom in many facets including candy making, giving baseball signs and even how to throw a spiral pass. She loved fiercely and with her whole heart.
She is survived by her sister, Jackie (Greg) Cochran; her daughters, Debra Hamilton, Vickie Green and Teresa (Paul) Bingham; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Grace Hayse; her siblings, Jake Hayse, Ted Hayse, John Hayse, Susie Hayse and Michael Hayse; her husband, Reginald Jones, Sr. "Reggie" and her son, Reginald Jones Jr. "Skip"
