Friday, April 19, 2024, Genevieve Morris danced her way into heaven. To us, she was Mom/Granny. Gentle, kindhearted with a pinch of marvelous wit. We will miss her cross-stitching, coloring, drinking more coffee than water, sneaking out "North" for a smoke and changing any conversation with "How's the Weather?".

Genevieve was born on October 27, 1930. She was a seamstress and a cafeteria Lady at Harrison Jr. High School, who made delicious rolls. She continued her love of sweets at Consumers Bakery.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Bill Thornton of Little Rock and Kathy and Rusty Dees of Harrison; her grandchildren, Chris Thornton and wife, Kysia of Springdale and Christopher Dees and wife, Michelle of Harrison; her great-grandchildren, Jonah Thornton and wife, Milly of Springdale, Kariel Thornton of Fort Smith and Charlotte Dees of Harrison; her brother, Eldon Short of California and her sister, Susie Short (Eutah) of Missouri. Her parents and brothers, Eutah Short, Dale Albritton, Jim Albritton and sister, Wanda Harrell preceded her in death.

Special thanks to Misti and Rob Crosley who became part of our family over a decade ago.

We are forever grateful for the care and love shown to Mom/Granny by Pinnacle In-Home Care, Legacy Hospice, and The Springs of Mount Vista.

We were all so blessed to call her our own. We Love you Mom/Granny.


Visitation was an hour before the service on Saturday before.

The graveside service was on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Western Grove Cemetery, with Cheri Lea officiating.
