Darren T. Messick, age 55, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, in Harrison. He was born October 8, 1968, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Derrill G. and Sharon Shaddox Messick Miller. Darren was preceded in death by his father, Derrill G. Messick; his grandparents, Sherman and Oma Shaddox and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Sheryl Chaney.

Darren was a member of Northvale Baptist Church. He loved working on the farm, watching the Razorbacks play ball, going to rodeos, and spending time with his family, but most importantly he loved being a Pappy to Presley and Kingsley.

Darren is survived by his wife, Sidney Chaney Messick, whom he married on March 16, 1996, at Northvale Baptist Church in Harrison; his two sons, Colton Messick and Rylan Messick and wife, Anyston; his granddaughters, Presley and Kingsley Messick all of Harrison; his mother, Sharon Miller and her husband, Chip of Springfield, Missouri; his sister, Stephanie Dunlap and husband, John and his niece, Natalie Dunlap of Fayetteville, Arkansas.


A Celebration of Life and visitation was held Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Northvale Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers were Greg and Lu Boren and family, Eddie Mark Edwards, Mike Parkinson, Brad Scott, Hilton West, and the Magness Toyota Family.
