Donald Eugene Goodwin, 88, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Donald was born November 20, 1935 in Searcy, Arkansas to Winfred Edson and Clarice Marie Goodwin. To most, he was affectionately known as Uncle Donald.
Uncle Donald married Anna Marie Wellinghoff on November 3, 1956. They had no children, but he was an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Uncle Donald served in United States Army. He was an exemplary hard worker. He was part owner of the Carter and Goodwin Radiator repair shop. Long after retirement, he volunteered his time at the St. Edward thrift store where he worked until his last days.
Uncle Donald enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and family vacations.
Uncle Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife Anna Marie; brother Jearl "Bill" Goodwin; sisters in law Elena Wellinghoff, Rita Wellinghoff, Mary Frances Wellinghoff; and brothers in law Herman Wellinghoff and Joseph Wellinghoff.
Uncle Donald will be forever loved and remembered by his sisters in law LeAnn Wellinghoff and Venia Wellinghoff; brother in law George Wellinghoff; nieces Jennifer Philpott, Debbie (John) Davidson, Ann (Chad) Sudmeyer; nephews John Wellinghoff and Paul (Patty) Wellinghoff; great niece Leah Philpott; great nephews Jordan (Torrie) Langston and Spencer (Laura) Langston; great-great nephews Jake Langston and Shepherd Langston; great-great nieces Caroline Langston, Landry Langston, and Scarlett Langston; and many close friends.
Uncle Donald was a strong person that did not let his physical ailments keep him from enjoying life and being of service to others. While we will miss him dearly, our hearts are glad that he is now pain-free.
