She was Nanny to four treasured granddaughters, Ali Cavanaugh (Brett), Julie Money (Butch), Maggie Sieve (James) and Amanda Aebly. She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren, Niamh Johnson (Brad), Madi Huskey, Josh Huskey, Finn Cavanaugh, Laila Sieve, Gwen Sieve, Claire Sieve, Malachy Cavanaugh, Philomena Sieve, Saoirse Cavanaugh, Adelaide Sieve and Marta Sieve. A passionate fan of her Bear football, she listened to the games after she no longer attended in person. She was known to donate cakes and pies for the annual Fall festival and they would bring a pretty good price.

Ruby Jean was a lifelong member of the Lexa Methodist Church, where her faith and fellowship were a source of strength and inspiration to all. She enjoyed singing with the choir and with a servant's heart, she supported the church in all areas. She adored teaching children's Sunday School. She taught the love of Jesus to countless children and was instrumental in beginning a Christian foundation to many, including her granddaughters, Julie and Amanda.
