Louise Worthington Pruitt

June 18, 1921 - March 14, 2024

Louise Worthington Pruitt was born on June 18, 1921. She left us on March 14, 2024 but she has not left our hearts.

She devoted her life to her family and is lovingly remembered by her three sons and their wives, Jonah and Judy of Coral Gables, Florida, David and Angie of Indianapolis, Indiana and Don and Vanessa of Destin, Florida; four grandchildren, Stephen Pruitt, Michelle Piedmont, Alan Pruitt and Anne McGrath and eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Jackson, Dylan, Isabel, Cora, Nova and Maeve, that were able to know their beloved GG Weese. She is also survived by her maternal nieces and their husbands, Sally and Bill Merck of Plano, Texas and Janie and Jim Jones of Benton, Arkansas.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah Pruitt, originally from Jasper AR and her brother, Rodney and his wife, Bette Worthington.

Louise was the daughter of Rex and Lillian (Hull) Worthington of Harrison, where Rex had been Mayor from 1932 -1938. Louise graduated from Harrison High School in 1939 and was a member of the Pep-Rett social club where she had life-long friendships. She raised her family in Little Rock where she resided until 2011 when she moved to live with David in Indianapolis. Louise was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Little Rock where she and her husband were counselors with the youth groups for many years.

Louise retired from the Personnel Dept, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center after 25 years in 1983. She then worked as a registrar at the Convention Center. Through her husband's WWll military service, they were part of the 264th Small Ordinance unit that served in France and lived in several states. Louise will be buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, AR on Tuesday in a private family service. There will be a Celebration of her Life in Little Rock on Wednesday. Weese was a breast cancer survivor and we ask that donations in her memory be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

She was a beautiful, sweet woman who loved all and was always loved.

There was a private graveside service held for Louise.
