James Quinn, age 81, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at The Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born February 2, 1943 to James and Ann (Dore) Quinn in Chicago, Illinois.
James had an interesting life as a child, he paid his way through Brother Rice High School by collecting and cleaning golf balls so he could resale them. He was at the top of his class at Brother Rice High School. He served in the US Army. James liked gardening, reading and watching Fox News. He had two cats, Rascal and Ralphie, that he loved. Instead of cooking, James would go to his daughters and eat. James was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He loved to talk baseball with Veneable.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; his sister, Catherine and grandson, Christopher.
James is survived by his children, sons, Eddie Quinn and wife (Palak) of Illinois, Cassidy Quinn and wife (Jackie) of Illinois, Troy Lane of Arkansas, Coy Lane and wife (Kathy) of Minnesota, daughters, Ann Meyers of Arkansas, Sandra Gail Monty of Texas; sister, Eileen Kirschner of Illinois; brother, Phillip Quinn and wife (Carol) of Massachusetts; ten grandchildren;13 great-greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss him.
Visitation was on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
The funeral service was on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Brother Ron Malone and Father Ben Riley officiating.
The interment was in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy Lane, Jacob Lane, Jacob Greenlee, Kristopher Reynolds, Cassidy Quinn and Eddie Quinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmwood Baptist Church, 961 Plum Lane, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
