Golden ''Junior'' Johnson, 90, of Rose Bud, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born the only child to his parents, the late Samuel Golden and Lena Turner Johnson in Rose Bud, Arkansas on October 28, 1933.
Junior is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Meyer Johnson and two daughters, Carol and Cheryl, along with other extended family and friends that he has made throughout the years.
Junior graduated from Rose Bud High School class of 1952 and after graduation he enlisted into the United States Army where he served for two years during the Korean Conflict. He was able to stay state side and was stationed on bases from Texas to Michigan. After completing his time in the service, he went to work and stayed with Boeing Industries. He traveled for years with the Boeing Company when needed to help in the area that he was trained in. While working for Boeing Junior was called to work on the planes for three serving Presidents of the United States starting with Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Nixon.
After he left Boeing, he came home to Rose Bud and started a roofing company for himself. He stayed busy with his company and traveled the entire state doing roofing projects. After retiring he continued to enjoy working outside and being around their home. One of his hobbies was model airplanes and cars. He could fix anything and people would call him and he was always willing to help. He enjoyed working outside on his lawn and his place as long as he could.
Graveside Services are scheduled to be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Bethel Cemetery in Rose Bud, Arkansas with Military Honors to follow. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home is Searcy.
