Edith Lenore (Proue) Foot, Age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 18, 2024 at her home at The Green House Cottages of Popular Grove. Edith was born at the Trinity Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 4, 1937, daughter of the late Jacob B. Proue and Gertrude (Sullivan) Proue.
Edith graduated from Central High School in 1955. Edie was an avid dancer and once danced the twist on stage with Chubby Checker at the Robinson Center. Edith was employed with Union National Bank of Little Rock where she received the Distinguished Salesman's Award in 1973 and some of her clients included actors from The Beverly Hillbillies. Edith raised four children, Keith and Kenneth (twins), Kaylen and Jennifer. Edie was married to Don Foot in 1974 and moved to Jonesboro, AR and later to Tollville, AR to live in the country. She was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Little Rock and later became a dedicated member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Edie loved to work in the garden and feeding and watching the birds was her favorite pastime. She loved animals and had several dogs and cats she adored throughout the years. Her smart wit and humor were sure to give you a laugh and she loved to talk stats about her Arkansas Razorbacks. Her most enjoyable moments were spent with her family and grandchildren. Edie will be best remembered for her compassion and love for helping those around her, her love of Christ and for her great love and dedication to her family. She will be missed by many friends including her pals at Popular Grove.
Edie was loved and cherished by many people, including her children, Keith B. Kannard & wife, Suzann, Kenneth W. Kannard & late husband, Greg, Kaylen Kannard Denison & husband, Jeff, Jennifer Foot Spees & husband, Terry and Goran Carlsson, her Swedish son; grandchildren, Clay Kannard, Kristen Knight, Jessica Frausto, Rebecca Neuenfeldt, Whitney Jones and Ruth Rinehart; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ava, Lila, Kian, Mia, Jose IV, Maverick and Langley. Edie will now be joined with her sisters, Betty Byers, Jan Doramus, Jackie Albers and Mary Proue for their reunion in Heaven.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Cottages for their dedication and love in taking care of Mom these past few years. The family also wishes to send a warm and special thanks to You First Medical Home Health, for sending us Amy, Mom's Angel. Her love and compassion for Mom will always hold dear in our hearts.
Memorial Service to be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi St., Little Rock, Arkansas, at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
