Emmett Gadberry, Jr., 85, passed away on January 12th, 2024 at his home in Marion, Arkansas.
A graduate of Hughes High School, Emmett attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College and Arkansas State University, after which he pursued a career in agriculture, which spanned six decades. He served as a deacon a First Baptist Church, Hughes, Arkansas prior to moving to Marion where he attended First Baptist Church of Marion.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Gibbons Gadberry; their three children, Marianne Cupples (Bobby) of Proctor, Arkansas; Melanie Meurrier (Turner) of Marion, Arkansas; Emmett III (Cynthia) also of Marion, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Ashli Byas (Chance) of Southaven, Mississippi; Mallory Grove (John) of Arlington, Virginia; Carolyn Barnes (Brandon) of Marion, Arkansas; Emma Stewart (Hunter) of Crawfordsville, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Jack Grove, Adelyn Kate Byas, Hallie Whit Stewart and Warmack Barnes; a brother, Billy Gadberry of Marion, Arkansas and a sister, Joyce Wooten (Bobby) of Springdale, Arkansas.
Preceding him were his parents, Emmett Sr and Pearl Woods Gadberry; a brother, Gene Gadberry and two sisters, Betty Harrelson and Jean Cooley Butler.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 18th at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Memphis, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 1PM - 3PM with service to follow.
