Denver Lee Harris Sr., age 88, of Pindall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at NARMC in Harrison, Arkansas. He was born in Canaan, Arkansas on May 27th, 1935 to Uva Harris and Mildred Cohey Harris. He married Geraldine Vaughn on Christmas Day in 1960.
Denver was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He began his military career in the Air Force in May of 1954. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He went on to serve in the United States Army in April of 1959. He was an expert rifleman and earned his GED while in the Army. He was a strong Christian man who enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Denver was a very family-oriented man and his presence will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Geraldine Vaughn of the home; his children, Denver Lee Harris Jr. (Vicky) of Springfield, MO, Shirley Ann Harris of Pindall and Anita Gail Cox (Mark) of Flippin; grandchildren, James Alan Kirkham (Stephanie) of GA, Nicole Harris of Springfield, MO, Ashley Kirkham of Harrison, Michael Kirkham (Angela) of Pindall, Elizabeth Farnsworth of Rogers and Joshua Farnsworth of Rogers; four great-grandchildren, Jude, River, Cyprus and Aliyah; one sister, Brooksie Brown of Springfield, MO; two nieces, Donna Haxby of Branson, MO and Ronna Haxby of Ozark, MO and several extended family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Denver is preceded in death by his parents, Uva and Mildred Harris; one grandson, Jonathan Farnsworth and brother, Benjamin Glee Harris.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Marsena, Arkansas. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service.
Denver will be laid to rest with Military Honors. Honorary bearers will be Michael Kirkham, Mark Cox and Denny Harris Jr.
