Irene Camilla Sorenson was born and raised in Grayling, Michigan. She was born the only child of William Olaf and Joyce Irene (Wardell) Sorenson on June 30th, 1955.

Irene graduated from Grayling High School in 1973 and subsequently graduated college in East Lansing, Michigan in 1975. She then married on May 19th, 1979. The first daughter JJ "Joyce Jean" was born on July 7th, 1981.

Irene was a loyal and kindhearted woman. She taught her children the laws of mercy, discipline and devotion.

Professionally, Irene became an astute financier. She was extremely frugal and thrifty. Later, she used her talents as an employee of the local credit union. Irene also governed as the supervisor of Beaver Creek Township.
