Derrel Wayne Ridings, 84, of Pangburn, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday morning October 17, 2023 with his family at his side. He was born on August 9, 1939 in Mount Vernon, Arkansas to the late James Oscar and Ethel Weatherly Ridings. He met a lovely lady by the name of Marilyn Sue Hodges and married her on August 3, 1958 and they became partners in every sense of the word for the next 65 years. He was a member of Glad Tidings Baptist Church in Pangburn.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Oneal Ridings. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Ridings of Pangburn; three children, Kevin Ridings of Searcy, Beth (Bobby) Richardson of Pangburn and James (Marcy) Ridings of Beebe; eight grandchildren, Amy Risk, Natasha Ridings, Andy Richardson, April Walters, Kyle Ridings, Lauren Ridings, Whitney Williams and Reece Ridings; nine great-grandchildren; along with other extended family and many friends.

Derrel served our country in the United States Navy for four years and was a Boiler Operator. After his return from the Navy he became a Master Plumber and worked for Harding University in the maintenance department where he retired from with 30 years of service. He worked on his farm in Pangburn with his cattle and whatever he needed to do on the farm. He built their home on the farm and was proud of what they had.

Services for Mr. Ridings are set for a time of Visitation on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and the Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM all services at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas.
