Nancy Carolyn Groves, age 86, went home to Jesus on October 8, 2023.
Nancy was born to G.W. and Mary Chambers on May 27, 1937 in Dyersburg, TN. She grew-up in Dyersburg before moving to Memphis, TN at a young age. She attended the University of Mississippi and later graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Nancy's love for the Lord inspired her service to family and those around her and her heart was for all her family to be devoted to Christ. As a committed church leader, she served others through Woman's Missionary Union. As a person of beauty, Nancy enjoyed music, needlework and nature. As a lover of family, she enjoyed homemaking in Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas, relaxing times at Greers Ferry Lake, shared times of cheering the Arkansas Razorbacks and delighting in grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy met Jerry in 1959 at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Nancy's home church, where she was baptized and grew-up. They married in 1960 and went on to have three children. They lived briefly in Nashville, TN, Portland, TN and Murray, KY before they lived in Blytheville, AR for 22 years. Jerry and Nancy moved to the Little Rock, AR area in 1988 and were involved with the faith community of Immanuel Baptist Church.
